Our Advisory Board

The VERITAS Advisory Board provides independent, strategic advice to the firm's Directors and management. It strengthens strategic thinking and decision confidence, brings external perspective and informed challenge, and helps the firm explore opportunities, manage complexity and navigate change as it grows across infrastructure, defence, manufacturing and government. Members are appointed for their senior executive experience in the asset-intensive, service-critical sectors in which our clients operate, and for their standing with government, industry and international partners.

Charles Plenge

Managing Director

Charles has drawn his extensive experience from asset intensive and linear networked industries that includes transport (heavy rail, light rail and roads), oil and gas, utilities (power generation & distribution and water), resources, heavy engineering and manufacturing sectors. Charles also has a background in quality control, testing and certification as well as broader quality management, quality assurance third party certification. He has an impressive record in driving strategy and delivering outcomes in Australia, New Zealand, Middle East, Europe and America. He has worked with some of world's largest and complex organisations in private industry as well as government, the not-for-profit sector and two of the "Big 4" professional services firms directing large and complex projects.

Neil Gleeson

Advisory Board Member

Neil brings more than 25 years of senior executive experience across rail, infrastructure, transport, manufacturing and telecommunications, including Finance Director, Chief Financial Officer, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Company Secretary roles. As Acting CEO of the Country Regional Network for John Holland Rail, he held Responsible Infrastructure Manager accountability under national rail legislation for a long-term contract to operate and maintain regional NSW rail infrastructure. Neil was VERITAS' first non-government client. He engaged the firm's operational excellence and asset management methodologies in a live, high-consequence operating environment and saw their results first-hand. He brings to the Board a client's perspective on long-duration operate-and-maintain contracts, boardroom-grade commercial judgement, and a disciplined view of governance, assurance and risk as the firm scales.

David McCredie AM OBE

Advisory Board Member

David brings more than a decade of David is Managing Partner of McCredie Partners and served for thirteen years as Chief Executive Officer of the Australian British Chamber of Commerce, where he played a central role in deepening the bilateral commercial relationship through the Australia–United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement and AUKUS-aligned industrial partnerships. He continues to operate at the most senior levels of government, industry bodies and major corporates in both countries. His contribution has been recognised at head-of-state level in both nations: Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to international trade and the UK–Australia relationship, and Member of the Order of Australia for service to Australia–United Kingdom business and trade relations. David brings to the Board sovereign capability and AUKUS-aligned strategic perspective, government and trade relationships, experience in scaling a national organisation, and counsel on extending VERITAS' services across regional Australia.

Prof. Prabhu Sivabalan

Advisory Board Member

Prabhu joined the Board in October 2026 following a 25-year career at the University of Technology Sydney, most recently as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise Learning) and Professor of Management Accounting and Control in the UTS Business School. As Pro Vice-Chancellor he held oversight of the strategy, design and delivery of executive education and short courses across the University, and as Associate Dean (External Engagement) he was responsible for building productive partnerships between the Business School and government, industry and the not-for-profit sector. A chartered accountant with a doctorate in budgeting, strategy and management control systems, Prabhu began his career at Deloitte, led the NSW Health and UTS Performance Analysis for Transformation in Healthcare (PATH) Group, and has taught at the London School of Economics and Oxford University's Saïd Business School. He brings to the Board a direct connection between academic rigour and how organisations cost, measure and improve performance, deep experience in designing industry-facing education, and counsel on extending VERITAS' training and advisory services to regional Australia.

Our Delivery Culture

VERITAS works as one team with its clients. Our advisors are independent and engineer-led; conclusions are supported by objective evidence, and we do not speculate or assume. Issues are raised when identified and reported by exception, so clients are informed early. Quality is a personal responsibility for every member of the team, from draft to final deliverable. We hold to the agreed scope, direct effort to where it adds value and treat client confidentiality as a standard of conduct. Six Guiding Principles govern how we work: customer service, safety, respect, teamwork, continuous improvement and integrity.

Our Delivery Performance

Every VERITAS engagement is measured. Clients complete a Client Satisfaction Survey at the close of each advisory engagement, training participants complete a Training Satisfaction Survey at the end of each course, and every deliverable passes staged technical, quality and peer review before release. Results are reviewed quarterly by the firm's leadership and used to refine how we work. 96.3% Average client satisfaction across all engagements since 2017. 100% Of surveyed clients indicate they would re-engage or refer VERITAS. [96%] Average training participant satisfaction [FY2023–25].

Certified to deliver engineering services for Transport for NSW.

The TAO Framework (formerly AEO) exists so that outsourced engineering is delivered by organisations that can demonstrate effective management systems that support capability delivered by qualified and competent resources. Certification permits VERITAS to either manage transport projects independently on behalf of TfNSW or contribute to projects as sub-contractors / team members as part of the TfNSW ecosystem.

Our Integrated Management System

Every VERITAS engagement runs under one management system. Whether we are embedded in a multi-year assurance program or delivering a single day of training, the same controls apply: a defined scope, an accountable Engagement Director, competent people and a staged review of every deliverable before it reaches the client. The system is modelled on the ISO High Level Structure and independently assessed by Transport for NSW. We run quality, environment, information security, health and safety and asset management through a single framework, applied the same way on every engagement.

ISO 9001 — Quality

Document control, competency requirements, staged reviews and independent sign-offs, applied the same way to a training workbook as to a safety assurance report.

ISO 14001 — Environment

Environmental management covered under the same system rather than run as a separate program.

ISO 27001 — Information security

Client information protected without compromise, under the same controls that govern delivery.

ISO 45001 — Work health and safety

WHS and wellbeing carried through planning, delivery and review.

ISO 55001 — Asset management

The asset management discipline we advise on, applied to how we run our own engagements.

Government panels and schemes

Government clients in New South Wales and Victoria can engage VERITAS directly through existing whole-of-government arrangements. Our pre-qualifications cover management consulting, ICT services and professional advisory services, and our engineering capability is independently certified by Transport for NSW.
